it would be a shame if they never came back after what happened today.
while the whip was going on they had a problem wit h their sound but once LOTP came after them the sound kept fading in and out especially sams mic.
he started to get really pissed off and started throwing 20lb speakers down about 4 feet to the floor. and threw around other stuff that he could get his hands on. their set was cut short im assuming cause it was probably like only six songs it was the best gig ive ever been too despite all the fuck ups by the sound crew.
i just hope they come back to america even tho it seems like they have some bad experiences here.
im uploading some photos now. ill post the videos later tomorrow if anyone is interested.
aww crappy. their gig in chicago didn't go so well either?
bah. same in toronto. well at least your crowd wasn't chanting "DEADMAU5! DEADMAU5!" during their set! i don't think sam, or any of them for that matter seemed to be having so much fun during the toronto gig. same threw his guitar on the ground like 4 feet below the stage and nearly pushed the monitor off the stage. weeeeird vibes from the crowd. he also announced that they were cutting their set short, to which i pretty muched yelled, "SAMUEL NOOOoOOoooo!!" but they did...7 songs.
but we talked to them after the show and we said that hopefully this experience doesn't sour their idea of toronto or whatever. and they said they'd be back, i just told them they'd have to play a different venue. and not to play with deadmau5.
according to faley..."shit house = deadmau5"

yeah thank godd noone was chanting that, im sure they would have just gone off stage after like 3 songs if it did.

i felt really bad for them at the chicago gig.
i think though looking at this photo, that's all the songs they were going to play anyway?
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3339/343 ... 832a_b.jpg like what you said to them, i left a comment on their myspace telling them to come back to chicago and play a different venue and i promised it would go smoother. the congress here isn't a great place soundwise as it is. and all those DJ sets...
when i met them at coachella i sort of lightly mentioned the chicago gig and "it seemed like there were some problems with the mikes...?" and sam and ross just responded with "yeah...that was a weird gig"
but when i asked them if they'd come back here, they both said yes pretty emphatically and sam said some nice things about touring the states.
so hopefully we are not out of luck.
oh dear, and i thought the Boston show was bad.. haha.
The show itself was amazing, but most of the people in the crowd were definitely waiting for Deadmau5. A few people danced a little, but overall it was probably the quietest gig in the history of LotP (at least nobody shouted things at them..). I really want them to come back soon, though, with a better lineup.. The Whip = awesome, too.
and honestly, what is the deal with deadmau5?
i mean, he comes out with a big cartoon mouse head on, that was cool.
but after about 5 minutes, everything he did sounded the same and went on and on. but everyone was so excited about him.
i didn't even stay for deadmau5. the crowd...yeah no. that was NOT gonna happen.
but it sounds like they had a really crappy usa tour. haha. D: well crowds more than anything. bah. hopefully they'll be back. well ross did say in an interview they'd be back, but not for another year or so...
a whole year! well, at least there's hope for a sophmore album "real" tour..
we didn't stay for deadmau5 either.. met Faley instead :] and took some awkward fan pictures. haha.
haha that's what we decided to do. we left and just went and found them instead! except we forgot to take awkward pictures. but we did have a nice little chat with them. they're sweet.
i was trapped.
my choices were to fight the massive crowd pushing up against me, or have security lift me over the barrier.
i couldn't figure out which one was worse so i just stayed and suffered.
it was worth it though to be up front for lotp.

oh ew lame. we just pushed our way out. i was like, f*** this, i'm outta here. we stayed at the front for the whip and lotp, but once they finished the crowd started to push up and i was not about to stay/

ah yeah with deadmau5 i left the front and headed to the balcony and left right away cause MAN there are some creeps in the balcony ( especially when youre a girl, alone, with purple pants and glow in the dark shoes that draw attention to yourself)
yeah the whip was really great. the crowd had no idea who they were.... even while we were in line they strolled right in front of us as the doors were about to open and no one noticed they were the band ( except for me but i was too shy to approach them) the crowd ended up going crazy for the whip even more than lotp : O.
melabonbon where were u? sounds like you might have been near me. the crowd was nuts and there were alot of little tiny douchebags trying to elbow their way to the front = _ =
