I think Klaxons are amazing! Not on their albums so much, but live they're really fun. They toured here three times in a few months, which was pretty odd seeing as I'm, you know, halfway across the world from England, but they were wonderful each time. They're really nice people and people were super into the music and dancing and moshing a bit and such so :). The second time they were here there was an epic stage invasion as well, it was lovely.
I don't really get the comparisons with LotP either, though. Klaxons are way more straight guitars and keyboards, like, punk-influenced almost, especially live, whereas LotP are way more electronic and wheeeeeeee and synthy stuff, I think. They've got the same bizarre what-the-fuckery going on in their videos, though. Like, Focker almost reminds me a bit of the Klaxons video for Magick? I dunno. ANYWAY. :D

They're ace! Calm Trees is epic, I can totally imagine a studio one. I mean one, it's their longest song so far, the layered vocals are typical of their darker songs like Magick, the buildup at the end is crazy. Moonhead has such a catchy riff as well an the lyrics are definitely the best they've written so far (as they aren't pretentious ramblings)

i think its the signing rather than the songs. its hard to appreciate layerd vocals sung as shittilly as they are. at least on the bootlegs i heard. whcih were the very first ones i think. if there are ones which better show the songs. i'd be glad of a link/send.
but honestly, the calm trees i heard was just a drunk/coked up jamie shouting badly, (my memory probably exaggerates, but meh)

Well yeah I won't deny Jamie can't sing but with bootlegs it's less about how the song sounds, more about how the song WILL SOUND once it goes through the James Ford Machine. I'll upload them tomorrow sometime, when I can be bothered.
